Case Study · Paid Social

Sales Genius

A 90s infomercial, on purpose.

A 10-hook paid social campaign for Lead Boy, Sales Genius's Game Boy-style lead tool, built around a deliberately over-the-top 90s-infomercial aesthetic designed to stand out in the Meta feed.

Deliverables

1 core video, 10 hooks, two talent versions

Role

Concept, Direction, Green-screen Production, Compositing, and Retro Post. In-house.

The Brief

Sales Genius needed paid social for Lead Boy, their retro lead-qualification tool. Agents try it free, answer questions through a Game Boy-style interface, then get a tailored email follow-up.

The concept: a 90s infomercial throwback. ShamWow energy, late-night pacing, ‘but wait, there's more’ transitions. Deliberately over-the-top to stand out against polished, forgettable ads.

What We Delivered

  • 1 core video, 2 talent versions (Emma + Ryan)
  • 10 unique opening hooks for A/B testing
  • Retro post: VHS overlays, glitch transitions, countdown timers

The Approach

Cheesy on purpose, credible by design.

We set the framework with the team: lean into the cheesy energy, bold claims, and countdown urgency, while avoiding looking cheap instead of intentionally retro. A full green-screen shoot with both hosts, each recording the core video separately for two talent versions.

Then ten unique hooks for A/B testing, each attacking a different angle: pain points, curiosity gaps, social proof, urgency. Retro post made every effect intentional, nostalgic without undermining credibility.

Concept to comp, one team. Built to out-stop the scroll.
